Da Elena (Tereglio)
This is the closest restaurant to Casa Querce - literally right next door. They are open everyday (except Mondays) for lunch and dinner and Saturday and Sunday at around 9 am for cafe and pastries. Their food is excellent. They serve classic Italian dishes with local meats and veggies. We recommend the Macaroni al Chingiali (pasta with wild boar), pasta with ragu and the farfalle pasta with sausage. It is often a lively place in the evening. Pizzas are typically available on the weekends.
Da Michele (Lucignana)
This is the restaurant where our friends had the reception for their wedding. The food is excellent and the area is very serene. It is a short walk from town and tucked into the hillside. No surprise - they serve classic Italian dishes.
Pizzicheria la Grotta (Lucca)
If you are in Lucca and want great food this is the place (http://www.pizzicherialagrotta.it). It's kind of tailored towards the tourists (the servers will speak english) which kind of takes away from the feel of it, but the food is as traditional as it gets and very good. I loved their pasta with porcini mushrooms or with truffles and Sarah loved the steak - she had it four times. It's located in the main "square" (oval) so is often busy, but well worth it.
